Square Plastic Seed Planter - PP Pot BP90 to BP180
Square plastic seed planters in PP, six sizes from BP90 to BP180 with carton quantities and CBM listed. .
TEL:+86 191 5068 3942
Square plastic seed planters in seven colours on a white background, one red planter tipped over showing the corner ribs and base

Product Description:

This square plastic seed planter is a moulded PP pot for raising seedlings and young plants on greenhouse benches and nursery beds. The square footprint is the point of the design: square pots tile edge to edge without the wasted gaps that round pots leave, so a bench or a transport tray holds more plants per square metre. Six sizes run from BP90 to BP180, going up in step with the root ball as the plant grows.

Specifications:

1. Material : PP material (polypropylene), moulded in one piece.

2. Colours: Red, Yellow, Green, Orange, White.

3. Usage Time : can be used for 3 years under normal usage.

4. Scientific design first quality material make it good for permeability and ventilation.

5. Total range of size — six moulds, BP90 to BP180, listed in the table below.

Why the square shape and the PP material matter:

Square pots pack tight. On a bench, or in a carrier tray, square planters sit shoulder to shoulder and use the whole surface, where round pots leave a wedge of empty space at every contact point. The same applies inside the carton — the packing figures above are built on square nesting. Polypropylene gives a thin, light wall that flexes instead of cracking when a pot is squeezed, and it does not absorb water the way an unglazed clay pot does. The moulded corner ribs visible in the picture above stiffen the upright walls, so the pot keeps its shape when it is lifted full of wet growing medium. Air and water pass through the base and the wall design, which is what the original specification means by good permeability and ventilation: roots stay aerated instead of sitting in a saturated block.

Choosing the right size step:

The six sizes are a sequence, not six alternatives. BP90 (90 mm top, 60 mm base, 80 mm high) suits germination and the first pricking-out; BP100 and BP120 carry the seedling through to a saleable plug; BP130 and BP140 are the working sizes for young vegetable and flower plants; BP180 (180 mm top, 130 mm base, 150 mm high) is for a plant that will be sold or planted out with a real root ball. Plan on potting up into the next size rather than jumping two steps — the tapered shape, where the base is roughly two thirds of the top, is what lets the root ball slide out cleanly at transplant. For tray and bench work our plastic seeding tray takes the plugs before they reach these pots, and the tapered round pot design page covers the round option if your tray layout is already built for circles. Coloured pots are also used in retail displays — see the double colour flower pot series for that side of the range, and the wider greenhouse planting tools range lists everything else we mould — clips, trays, nets and labelling.

How to order:

Four things fix the quote: the item numbers and quantities you want, the colour, whether you need a mixed carton, and the destination port. The carton quantities and weights in the table above let you work out a container load before you ask us anything. Because these pots nest, the CBM per carton is far below the physical size of the box — a full carton of BP180 occupies 0.176 CBM, so a 20 ft container takes a large number of cartons. We also mould the same range in a black nursery spec and in a double-colour decorative finish. Growers and project contractors across Africa, South Asia, the Middle East and Latin America have bought our planting tools for many years, and our greenhouse division supplies the full structure as well through the greenhouse equipment index. For independent guidance on raising transplants and nursery hygiene, the USDA publishes extension material on seedling production, and Hortidaily reports on how commercial growers handle propagation and potting.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What are the dimensions of each square seed planter size?
Six moulds run from BP90 to BP180. BP90 is 90 mm top diameter, 60 mm base and 80 mm high. BP100 is 100/70/90 mm, BP120 is 120/85/105 mm, BP130 is 130/88/115 mm, BP140 is 140/95/125 mm, BP150 is 150/105/135 mm, BP160 is 160/110/145 mm and BP180 is 180/130/150 mm. Every size is listed with its carton quantity and carton size in the table above.

Q: What material are they made from, and how long do they last?
They are moulded in PP (polypropylene) and can be used for 3 years under normal usage. The material is light, does not absorb water and flexes rather than cracking when the pot is squeezed.

Q: How many planters fit in one carton?
BP90 packs 3150 pieces per carton at 23.55 kg gross, BP100 packs 1800 at 19 kg, BP120 packs 1000 at 15.5 kg, BP130 packs 900 at 15.5 kg, BP140 packs 800 at 16.5 kg, BP150 packs 600 at 15.5 kg, BP160 packs 600 at 18 kg and BP180 packs 450 at 18 kg. The CBM per carton ranges from 0.117 to 0.2, so you can calculate a container load directly from the table.

Q: Are these pots suitable for an automated filling line?
The tapered body and the flat square rim mean the pots separate cleanly from a stack and sit square in a carrier tray, which is what an automated line needs. If your line indexes on a fixed tray pitch, tell us the tray it has to match and we will confirm which of the six sizes corresponds to that pitch.

Q: Why square planters rather than round ones?
Square pots tile without gaps, so the same bench or the same carrier tray holds more plants. Round pots leave a wedge of unused space wherever two pots touch. The square option and the round option are both in our planting tools range, and the tapered round pot design page covers the round version.

Q: What is the minimum order and how do you pack a mixed container?
Every order is produced to your specification, and the minimum order quantity is 1 set. Mixed cartons and mixed colours are normal for this product — give us the item numbers, the colour split and the quantities and we will work out the carton count. We accept T/T and L/C, and production normally takes about 1 month after the deposit is received.
