A Flower House Run at Commercial Scale:

A arch flower greenhouse range like the row in the first photo is built for programs, not single crops: several bays side by side let one grower hold different temperature bands and different crop stages at the same time. Under cover you control temperature, light, humidity and carbon dioxide concentration, the crop reaches quality horticultural standards, the seasonal limit on flowering is broken so production and supply run through the year, and species not suited to local open fields can be introduced and nurtured in a suitable facility environment. That is what makes covered flowers competitive as export products.

Bench Crops in Volume: the Poinsettia Example:

The red potted poinsettias in the second photo show how a bench crop runs in volume. Benches keep the pots off the floor, so air passes under the foliage and the irrigation lines can feed each row in measured doses - spray and drip hardware from our irrigation for potted crops section puts water at the root ball instead of over the blooms. Most greenhouse flowers are not hardy and will not overwinter in cold temperate regions, so the house carries the crop: cold room foliage plants at 2 to 5 degrees Celsius, semi hardy Primula at 5 to 8, subtropical Calceolaria and fuchsias at 8 to 15, and tropical Codiaeum at 15 to 25. Plan the bay temperatures around the band your program sells.

Pest Monitoring and Presentation:

The yellow sticky traps above the crop are the cheapest monitoring you can run: they catch whitefly and fungus gnats early, and the count on each card tells you where to act before a batch is unsellable. Clean walkways, even light and a house that presents well matter too, especially for growers who sell to visitors; a tidy arch range behind flowerbeds, as in the first photo, is itself an advertisement. Growers who root cuttings in water culture can pair the flower house with our hydroponic growing systems for the propagation stage.

Siting the Range:

Build on land with a low water table, adequate water, convenient drainage and irrigation, and loose, fertile, pollution-free soil. Set the bays to run north to south with air vents on the east and west sides: this reduces humidity inside, keeps the bays from shading each other so light falls evenly on the crop, and stops winter ventilation from pulling cold northern air straight onto the plants while still exchanging plenty of air. The same rules apply across the wider commercial greenhouse selection.

Ordering and Support:

Tell us the crop program you plan and the site you have, and we will come back with a bay count, a vent layout and an equipment list that match it. You can read Bozong greenhouse company, call +86 191 5068 3942 or send an E-mail to sales@cngreenhouses.com.

We have supplied growers and project contractors across Africa, South Asia, the Middle East and Latin America for many years. Floriculture research and production standards are published by organizations such as the FAO, and floriculture trade news is reported by media such as Greenhouse Grower.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Why build several arch bays instead of one big house?
A: Separate bays let you hold different temperature bands and different crop stages at the same time, so one program can propagate, bulk and finish crops in the right zone without compromising either end.
Q: What are the yellow cards above the poinsettias for?
A: They are sticky traps for monitoring whitefly and fungus gnats. Counting the catch on each card tells you where a problem is building before the batch is unsellable.
Q: Which temperature bands must a flower program plan around?
A: Roughly four: 2 to 5 degrees for cold room foliage plants such as bamboo palm and cycads, 5 to 8 for semi hardy Primula, 8 to 15 for subtropical Calceolaria and fuchsias, and 15 to 25 for tropical Codiaeum.
Q: How do you water thousands of potted flowers efficiently?
A: Bench growing plus drip lines that feed each row at the root ball. Measured doses keep the foliage dry, which is the cheapest disease control available in pot flower production.
Q: Can the same house propagate cuttings before potting?
A: Yes, and many growers do. For water-based propagation the house can be paired with a hydroponics system, keeping the propagation and finishing stages under one management routine.
Q: Does the siting rule change for a multi-bay range?
A: No. Low water table, adequate water, good drainage, fertile soil, bays running north to south and vents on the east and west sides apply to one house or ten.
