A PC Sheet House Arrives as a Kit:
What we ship is a complete house in pieces, not a covering you stretch over an existing frame. The kit contains the hot dip galvanized steel frame - main columns, side pillars, string crossbeams and shear legs - the hollow PC sheets, the purpose-made aluminium profiles that hold them, the sealing strips and the fixings. Every steel part is cut and drilled in our own workshop, so the house is assembled on site rather than fabricated there, and a container leaves with everything that belongs to the structure inside it.The Board and How It Is Fixed:
The cover is a double or triple wall hollow PC board, or a single wave board where the roof is curved. It is not screwed straight to the steel: the sheets sit in aluminium profiles with sealing strips along every joint, and the fixings leave a little room for the board to expand and contract with temperature. That detail is what separates a house that stays watertight for years from one that drips after the first season, and it is the part of the kit most often got wrong on site. How the Kit Compares with a Film House:
A film house is cheaper to put up and is re-covered roughly every second season. A PC sheet house costs more at the start and then stops asking. Three points decide most of the comparison. Heat: a single film layer has a much higher thermal conductivity than a hollow board, so the film house loses heat faster. Impact: the board does not shatter and stays serviceable from -100 degrees Celsius to 135 degrees Celsius. Fire: the board is self-extinguishing and does not spread flame, while a film cover can carry a fire along the house. If your film house is being re-covered every two years and heated through the winter, the film covered greenhouses you already run are the honest benchmark to price the upgrade against. What Can Be Added to the Kit:
The structure is the starting point, not the whole order. Roof and side wall vents, a wet curtain and fan cooling system, heating, internal and external shading, a fill light and greenhouse irrigation systems can all be quoted with the house. Specifying them at the same time is cheaper than retrofitting, because the frame is drilled and the pipework is planned once rather than twice.Sizing and Ordering the Kit:
Start from the PC sheet greenhouse models we build, or look at the full commercial greenhouse range and compare sheet, glass and film on the same span. Tell us the span and length, the crop you plan to grow and your local conditions - winter temperature, snow load and wind speed - and we will confirm the layout, the covering and a quotation. Q: What exactly is included in the kit?
A: The hot dip galvanized steel frame, the hollow PC sheets, the aluminium profiles that hold the sheets, the sealing strips and the fixings. Every steel part is cut and drilled in our workshop, so the house is bolted together on site rather than fabricated there.
Q: Can the kit be used on a frame I already have?
A: No, and it is worth saying plainly. PC sheet is carried in purpose-made aluminium profiles and the frame is drilled to suit them, so the kit is supplied as a complete house. Re-covering an existing frame is work we do with the frame we built.
Q: Can a local team assemble it?
A: Yes. The parts are labelled and the drawing set covers the sequence. If you want us on site, our engineers can travel to guide the installation, and we can also walk your team through the profile and sealing details at the start.
Q: What is the difference between this and a film greenhouse?
A: A film house is cheaper to put up and is re-covered about every second season. A PC sheet house costs more once and then holds: better heat retention, no shattering under hail, and a board that is self-extinguishing rather than a film that carries flame.
Q: Can cooling, heating and irrigation be included?
A: Yes, and it is cheaper to specify them with the structure. Ventilation, wet curtain and fan cooling, heating, shading, fill light and irrigation can all be quoted with the house, so the frame is drilled and the pipework planned once.
Q: How long does a PC sheet kit take to produce?
A: It depends on the span, the length and how much climate equipment is included. Send us the size, the crop and your local winter temperature, snow load and wind speed and we will confirm the layout, the delivery schedule and a quotation.
Note: If you're interested in the product, please submit your requirements and contacts and then we will contact you in two days. We promise that all your informations won't be leaked to anyone.
